Big Pit (Pwll Mawr) mining museum

Big Pit is a real Welsh coal mine where you can actually go underground and discover what it was like to be a collier - and it's free! ENTER  
Blaenafon Iron Works is probably the best example of an 18th century iron works anywhere. It is complete with workers cottages and a rare water balance tower. ENTER
